How to open the OneDrive shared link from RTRI

NOTICE

Some of the files attached to the emails sent by the Railway Technical Research Institute are stored in OneDrive for Business provided by Microsoft 365, which is a cloud storage service, and a shared link is sent to the email recipients.

The URL for the OneDrive for Business will be a string starting with "https://rtrijapan-my.sharepoint.com/personal/".

Instruction to open the attachment(s)

1. Connect with your browser to the link provided in the email.

Please use Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome, Safari or Mozilla Firefox as your browser to open the link. In particular, you cannot use Microsoft Internet Explorer, which is no longer supported by Microsoft 365 services, to open the link.

2. When an input box of an email address is displayed

Please enter your own email address in the input box. If you have multiple addresses, please enter the email address displayed in the mail recipients (TO or CC).

3-A. When a button with a string such as "Open" is displayed

When you press the "open"-like button, a one-time password will be sent to your email address. Please enter the one-time password in the displayed input field to sign in.
You will be allowed to view or download the attached file(s).

3-B. If you are asked for authentication information such as a password

Please sign in using your Microsoft 365 (Office 365) account information (such as password), set by the IT system administrator of your company or school. If you do not have your Microsoft 365 account information, please ask the IT system administrator of your company or school. This certification information is not set by the Railway Technical Research Institute.

Even if your company or school does not install Microsoft 365, you may be asked for your credentials if you have created a Microsoft account with your own email address. In this case, please sign in with your Microsoft account credentials.

If you sign in successfully, you will be allowed to view or download the attached file(s).

CAUTION

To share attached file(s) to another person

OneDrive for Business owned by Railway Technical Research Institute generates shared links valid only for the recipient(s) of the email. Therefore, if you forward an email with a shared link to another person, the person who received the forwarding will not be able to access the shared link.

If you want to share the attached file(s) with another person, please download the attachment(s) by the email recipient, then please share the downloaded file(s) to another person.

Limitation of Microsoft 365 Shared Mailbox

If you are using a Microsoft 365 shared mailbox to receive a shared link to our OneDrive for Business, the shared link cannot be accessed in a usual way due to the Microsoft 365 specification.

We would appreciate that you could contact the sender at RTRI to send the email again to a normal mailbox (such as your own company email address). We apologize for the inconvenience.
