Vehicle Control Technology Division
Profile
Our division is composed of Traction Control, Hydrogen and Sustainable Energy, Drive systems, and Brake Control. R&D of new train control method to next generation is our mission.
Introduction
The research and development of this division aims toward solutions of the equipment and control which are required at the railway vehicles running and stopping. When the vehicles run, it is required well ride-comfort, reducing the vehicles accelerating energy, and the good performance brake which has an ability of stable deceleration at high speed. In order to realize them, we urge the research and developments of the improvement a re-adhesion control, the high efficiency power train, the on-board battery technology, the evaluation consumed energy and the train operation for reducing consumed energy, the improvement a performance of disk brake, the air dynamic brake for high speed, and so on. Moreover, we will promote the development of hydrogen utility technology, so we will contribute to build the comfort and convenient railway system and the sustainable energy society.
Laboratories and their field
Traction Control
Traction Control is in charge of energy conservation and storage of vehicle, re-adhesion control in slipping or sliding, degrade of electronic equipment for vehicle, and general electric car such as EMC.
Hydrogen & Sustainable Energy
Hydrogen & Sustainable Energy is in charge of Hydrogen technology such as fuel cell vehicle, new kind of energy, and evaluation of energy consumption of vehicle.
Drive systems
Drive systems is in charge of system in vehicle such as new energy, hybrid and diesel technology, and machine such as motor, inverter, and engine. And also, development and evaluation of measurement method of railway noise and vibration are progressed.
Brake Control
Brake Control is in charge of technical development and evaluation of whole brake system in not only commuting train and freight train but also high-speed bullet train like Shinkansen.
